Pairings Blog Spring 2018
You must write, "Posting #" at the top of each posting. See the dates below or your directions sheet for more info on entries.
Dates for Pairings:
Initial Posting: — 2/8/18 (set up at school)
You will also be writing your 2nd process paper as you read and post for Book 1, so allocate your time carefully. Keep in mind February break dates.
Posts #1 –3: 1st book reflections, analysis, and response — Start posting no later than 2/12. Finish by 3/7.
Post #4, Partner 1: Argue something related to the author's main argument, a significant claim, or an issue presented. Post no later than 3/9 by midnight. Partner 2: Defend, qualify, or refute Partner #1's argument. Post no later than 3/11 by midnight. If your partner has neglected to post, then follow Partner #1's prompt.
In-class Discussion for Book 1: 3/9
Start Book 2 no later than 3/8.
Posts #5–7: Now Partner #2 starts. 2nd book reflections, analysis, and response — Finish by 3/25.
Post #8, Partner 2: Argue something related to the author's main argument, a significant claim, or an issue presented. Post no later than 3/26 by midnight. Partner 1: Defend, qualify, or refute Partner #2's argument. Post no later than 3/28 by midnight. If your partner has neglected to post, then follow Partner #2's prompt.
Entry #9: Synthesis Posting (See Prompt) — Both partners must post on 3/29 by midnight. No specified order of who must post first.
Entry #10: Evaluative Comparison Posting (See Prompt; write for 90 minutes!) — Finish by midnight on 4/8 (realize that this is the Sunday of Spring Break, so you may want to finish by 3/30) . Do not start this entry until you have viewed the Presentation movie about what an evaluative comparison entails. You must follow one of the comparison organizational schemes. See your Writing Resources—Organization—mini outlines.
