AP Exam Prep Advice
Time is flying faster than you think! You must practice your FRE writing! Bring one in to review with me ASAP! (See more below and FRE link to the right)
"Students who know stuff score well on the AP Lang exam."
This statement came from the former head reader. So know stuff! Pay attention to news. Suggestions:
Read Course Description
I have set up AP Practice exams at AP Classroom, one a month. They start as each month starts and expire when the month ends. They present 45 questions just as the exam will; the tests time out at 60 minutes just as the exam will. Immediately, prior to the exam in May, you can take two practice tests. Don't fool yourself by thinking you don't need to practice until close to the exam: pace yourself. You can't cram for the AP Lang exam—it tests skills not memorization!
Test 4's Released College Board section and Post Test
I keep these until the AP exam.
Access released FRE prompts using the College Board AP Lang link on this page. I suggest that you do at least one of each of the three genres prior to the exam.
Don't wait until the week before AP exams start (and definitely do not wait until exams start) to meet with a tutor or me! Doing so may mean you can't accomplish all you must. Plus, if too many of you come at the same time, only the first arrivals can receive help. Plus, the tutors will be taking their own AP exams and may not be available when you want them.
Return to this site the last week in April to read what you must do closer to the exam date to prepare for it.
You possess the skills;
now you just must keep them honed!
